GreenMantratm Technologies Introduces New Ceranovustm Polypropylene Waxes with Unique and Customizable Technical Properties

BRANTFORD, Ontario, May 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- GreenMantra Technologies, a rapidly growing clean technology company that produces high-value polymer products from waste plastics, has developed a new line of synthetic polypropylene waxes that provide a unique range of technical properties previously not available in the market.

The new Ceranovus polypropylene waxes, produced from post-industrial plastic waste and post-consumer recycled plastics such as yogurt containers and bottle caps, can be tailored to specific end-use applications.

"We are able to customize these new polypropylene waxes in ways that are simply not possible with traditional waxes," said Domenic DiMondo, director of research and business development for GreenMantra. "This enables us to provide waxes with specific technical properties designed for individual customers, depending on their exact needs."

For hot melt adhesives manufacturers, the new waxes can provide tremendous flexibility to adjust key formulation properties such as adhesive open and set times, and also offer superior high temperature performance. In asphalt roofing, Ceranovus waxes can be used to stabilize or increase the softening point of commercial, residential or peel-and-stick roofing products while decreasing penetration in desired formulations. In addition, they can improve compound stability and impact resistance. In plastics processing and color masterbatch, the waxes can improve throughput, reduce breaks in product forming, and enhance dispersion of additives within a plastic.

"The versatility of these polypropylene waxes increases our ability to provide customized waxes to our customers," DiMondo said. "We continue to uncover new ways we can provide added value to our customers as we work with these new materials."

Ceranovus A series polypropylene waxes are designed for applications that are not color specific, while Ceranovus G series polypropylene waxes are for applications that are color sensitive. They complement GreenMantra's existing range of polyethylene waxes that also are produced from waste plastics.

Ceranovus waxes are made with 100 percent recycled materials, providing a sustainable raw material that helps drive the circular economy of plastic while still delivering a high level of performance in finished products. They also have received third-party certification for recycled content. This provides customers with transparent documentation and added support in qualifying for environmental product standards and green building requirements such as U.S. Green Building Council's LEED certification.
