A CRISIS UNFOLDING: JRS/USA and GCE-US Host Capitol Hill Briefing on Access to Education for Refugees

WASHINGTON, May 23, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Globally, 75 million children and youth are displaced from their homes and communities due to conflict or crisis and are in desperate need for educational support. Education plays a vital role in rebuilding lives, creating economic opportunities, and inciting stability. One year ago, leaders in governments and the private sector committed to addressing this issue by creating  "Education Cannot Wait: A Fund for Education in Emergencies." But, where are current efforts? What more can be done to ensure that children who are displaced by war, natural disasters, and other emergencies receive a quality education?
