Configurable Interconnection System

This patent adds further robustness and resiliency to Violin's industry first 4-way active-active RAID controller system by providing a method of connecting the custom flash modules together in a dynamic tree. This is superior to using classic design using switches, which are single points of failure and performance bottlenecks. The system can thus dynamically route requests around module failures, and operate when partially populated, all in a zero-downtime fashion.

"As a debt-free company and with a strong financial foundation, Violin now focuses on disruptive innovation in the pursuit of servicing our customers as they continue to deploy our market leading products," said Pat Balakrishnan, Violin's Vice President of Software Development.
