Compensation Advisory Organization of Michigan and Michigan Workers Compensation Placement Facility Name New President


LIVONIA MI--(Marketwired - May 05, 2017) - The Compensation Advisory Organization of Michigan and the Michigan Workers Compensation Placement Facility (CAOM/MWCPF) have announced that Dave Brueckman will become their new President & CEO on June 12. The CAOM/MWCPF Boards elected Mr. Brueckman President & CEO at their April 25, 2017 meeting following a nationwide search by CAOM and MWCPF Board members.

Dave has had a distinguished career in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry here in Michigan. He comes to the CAOM/MWCPF after serving as Director, Actuarial and Product Management at Frankenmuth Insurance Company since 2010. In addition to this position, he has had several actuarial positions at Frankenmuth, Citizens Insurance Company and Auto Owners Insurance Company. Dave earned his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from St Louis University and a Master of Arts in Applied Statistics from the University of Michigan. He holds the designation of Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS 2002) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU 2007). Dave has been a CAOM Board member since 2010 and has served two terms as chair of the CAOM Board.

Mr. Brueckman will be succeeding Jon Heikkinen as President and CEO. Tim Trafecanty, Chair CAOM Board of Governors and Darlene Berent, Chair MWCPF Board of Governors stated that the Boards express their appreciation to Jon for his leadership of the CAOM/MWCPF. Under his guidance, the CAOM/MWCPF has provided accurate loss costs, equitable and effective rules and useful information in support of a fair and stable workers compensation market to the benefit of insurers, employers, employees and the public. Jon will remain at CAOM as a consultant until August 1st to ensure a smooth transition.
