Conavi Medical Announces Health Canada Approval of the Foresight Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) Systemtm

Conavi's advanced technology platform is now available to Canadian physicians performing minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures that treat atrial fibrillation, structural heart disease and other cardiac conditions.

TORONTO, March 13, 2017 /CNW/ - Conavitm Medical Inc. (conavi.com) announced the approval from Health Canada to market the Foresight ICE System.  Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) provides physicians with the ability to visualize cardiovascular anatomy and devices during minimally invasive procedures, such as ablations for atrial fibrillation, the most common heart rhythm disorder in North America.  The Foresight ICE System is the first catheter-based ultrasound system capable of providing both 2D and 3D ultrasound images of cardiac anatomy around the circumference of the catheter's tip.

The system includes the dual display Conavi Hummingbird Consoletm, Foresight ICE PIMtm, and Foresight ICE Cathetertm.  This product can be used to support a growing number of minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures performed in Canada, such ablations and other procedures that require access to targeted regions of the heart.

The Health Canada approval comes after the Foresight ICE System had previously received 510(k) clearance from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States.
