Zacks Mutual Fund Rank Continues Identifying Winners

CHICAGO, Feb. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In its third year of live performance the Zacks Mutual Fund Rank has built upon its prior two years of success with another successful year in predicting relative returns of Mutual Funds during the year 2016. Zacks provided updated Mutual Fund Rankings to Zacks clients at the beginning of each quarter going back to 2013.  These rankings were able to separate funds with similar objectives into quintiles such that, during all three years of live performance, Zacks Rank #1 Mutual Funds outperformed Zacks Rank #5 funds in more than 90% of US Equity mutual fund style classifications and in excess of 65% of other asset classes each year.

The Zacks Mutual Fund Rank, which was formulated during 2013, is based on the findings of academic finance that although the equity markets may be highly efficient, Mutual Fund performance is influenced by organizational, institutional and behavioral factors and can be predicted.
