Registrar Corp FSMA Wizard Now Includes FDA's Intentional Adulteration Rule
HAMPTON, Va., Jan. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Registrar Corp's FSMA Compliance Wizard, a free tool that helps food facilities, importers, and farms determine their possible requirements under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), now incorporates FDA's Intentional Adulteration Rule. Published in May 2016, "Mitigation Strategies To Protect Food Against Intentional Adulteration" was the last of FDA's seven major rules to be finalized under FSMA.
The Intentional Adulteration rule requires food facilities registered with FDA to develop and implement a written Food Defense Plan. A facility's Food Defense Plan must include a vulnerability assessment and must identify mitigation strategies for each identified vulnerability as well as a plan to monitor the implementation of those strategies. Most facilities are required to comply by May 2019.
